Today

December 2016

My name is Sara Russo and I am a management engineering master graduate at Università Carlo Cattaneo LIUC in Castellanza, Italy. I graduated in international economics, management and finance at Bocconi University.

I have been asked many times about my change in academic orientation and questioned if it was the right choice since it could be seen as a basic indecision about my future. The truth is, I love to learn and I want to understand the dynamics of the company from different perspectives.

I grew up in a family business in the turnkey projects. We traveled a lot and lived in Algeria for ten years. In high school, I took the chance to live abroad in California to learn english and I had an amazing family that opened their hearts and welcomed me in their home.  That year totally changed my life, I learned to challenge myself and consider the human aspect of things. I came back home with the willingness to bring new projects into my life. I changed my high school orientation from scientific to economics and I organized the first prom dance of my high school.

When I finished high school , I started studying at Bocconi, which challenged me once again due to the diversity of my international class, the study methods and the caliber of my professors. I must admit that I had a hard time at the beginning and I felt as a small fish in a shark tank, my grades which has always being among the highest were now average but the situation helped my face my biggest fear: exam grades. While I got used to college method and I could choose my electives related to business consulting and entrepreneurship, I managed to increase my graduation grade to 98/110.

Graduation: When I received the grade I celebrated thinking that the ceremony would just be a formal recognition but I have to admit that it was one of the most emotional days of my life. My family was so proud of me and gathering with my class mates for this event was an important step in my life.

Meanwhile, I started my master degree in management engineering. The University  LIUC Carlo Cattaneo is a way smaller realty but looking back I am very happy of this choice because my professors were very prepared and the university is very close to the work environment. This time, I had the chance to work on consulting projects, product development projects (TRIZ method) and go abroad in North Carolina (USA) and Panama. Those experiences allowed me to prove my creativity in problem solving and ability to be autonomous yet productive in team projects.

More specifically, in my last experience abroad in Panama I learned a new language -Spanish- and a totally different culture.

Why should you choose me?

I am motivated and determined.

I have an international profile and I am open-minded.

I speak italian, french, english and spanish.

I am more than ready to work hard and learn whatever I have to in order to deliver the best results.

I might not have a directly speaking long professional experience but I have always been very active, from clubs to organisations and from a project to another.

I always look for challenging opportunities and I am ready and excited to start this new chapter of my life.

I look forward to test my skills and learn some more.
